Dr Lachlan Henderson has been appointed General Manager at Healthscope's Mount Hospital, the first time the hospital has had a medico at the helm. Previous GM Brad Sebbes is heading up the new Fiona Stanley Hospital with all its planning headaches. As Lachlan arrives, Mount Project Officer Joanne Fraser is leaving for personal reasons. The Mount is rumoured to be undergoing serious refurbishment in some clinical domains.

Adj. Prof Bernard Laurence has stepped down from his position as CTEC director to retire in Tasmania. Bernard has been with CTEC since 2002, and was instrumental in obtaining CTEC's endorsement from the World Gastroenterology Organisation, as well as introducing workshops for surgical trainees utilising fresh frozen cadavers (a first for Australian surgical training centres). CTEC has welcomed new marketing manager, Claire Pulker, who replaces Anna Gee whilst Anna is on maternity leave.

Health professionals Tammy Batten (CEO/Director of Nursing, St John of God Hospital, Geraldton), Lisa Hutchinson (Director, Advance Physiotherapy Services), Darren Lomman (Founder, Dreamfit – a company that custom designs and manufactures equipment for people with disabilities), and Angela Whittington (CEO, Imaging the South) are among the winners of the WA Business News 40under40 Awards. The awards honour WA's most successful young business leaders each year.

Stacey Mack has resigned as communications manager with MDA National to travel to the UK. Leigh Goldberg takes over her position.

Mr Mark Bianchini has been appointed company secretary of NeuroDiscovery following the departure of Narelle Lloyd. NeuroDiscovery is a Perth-based research and development company that focuses on the commercialisation and development of neurology opportunities.

Mr Simon Bedford has resigned as director of QR Sciences Holdings, the WA-based scanning technology R&D firm.
