A/Prof Frank Jones is the new Chair of the RACGP Western Australia Faculty Board. Immediate past Chair Dr Peter Maguire remains on the WA faculty board. Dr Timothy Koh is the new Deputy Chair and Dr Frances Cadden and A/Prof Hilary Fine are new members of the 2010-2011 board. The RACGP WA Faculty has relocated to 34 Harrogate St, West Leederville.

Imaging the South has renamed Global Diagnostics, to reflect more its operations across rural WA. The business was acquired by Ireland’s Centric Health in 2004.

Mr Stephen Carter is now the CEO of Eastland Medical Systems following the resignation of Mr Dermot Patterson.

Dr Adele Thomas has resigned from the board of aged care provider Brightwater, while Brian Rogers, Martin Kane and Mike Snell complete their 6 year term. All are replaced by Paul Sadlier (Cedar Woods MD), Bob de la Motte (Patersons), Martin Langridge (Deloitte), Prudence Ford, and Siobhan Mulvey.

We almost missed it…the McCusker Charitable Foundation donated $1.5m to the fit-out of the WA Institute of Medical Research’s new facility at the QEII Medical Centre as well as $0.4m to kickstart the McCusker Centre for Action on Alcohol and Youth, a partnership between Curtin University and the McCusker Foundation. Trustees divvy out about $2m each year aimed at improving health and education.

Dr Jennifer Martinick has been appointed vice president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
